Responsibilities:

You are an experienced 2D & 3D Motion Graphics Designer who excels in bringing illustrated characters and environments to life through sophisticated animation techniques. With a keen eye for design and mastery of motion dynamics, you will lead the transformation of conceptual art into engaging illustrated animations, focusing on high-quality 2D and 3D motion graphics. Your role is crucial in guiding our visual designers, ensuring that their static illustrations are animated and optimized for maximum impact.

As a seasoned expert with a robust background in graphic and motion design, you will not only execute animations but also provide strategic art direction across various projects. Your skills in developing new illustrated elements from scratch and enhancing narratives through video editing will be key. Proficiency with industry-standard animation tools like After Effects is essential, and your standout skill will be creating exceptional illustrated animations that captivate and engage audiences.

  • Lead designing and translating static illustrations into compelling animations, focusing on high-quality illustrated motion graphics. Refer to the first 15 seconds of [this animation] and the content following the 11-sec mark in [this animation] for examples of the style and complexity required.
  • Develop character designs similar to sample 1and sample 2.
  • Bring sound and music into your animations in a way that boosts their impact.
  • Provide expert art direction for creative video and animation briefs.
  • Create new illustrated elements that push the boundaries of digital animation.
  • Utilize advanced skills in animation software to deliver cutting-edge visual content.
  • Oversee and contribute to major client projects, ensuring all motion design work is strategic, technically sound, and visually appealing.
  • Work with UI elements.
  • Explore opportunities to partner with developers on select projects (such as this project or this project)—this is a plus but not a requirement.

Requirements:

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in motion design, particularly in animating and optimizing 2D and 3D illustrated designs for digital media.
  • Advanced graphic design skills, with the ability to conceptualize and execute high-impact visuals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in art direction, with a profound understanding of current and emerging trends in illustrated animation.
  • Expertise in animation tools such as After Effects or Toon Boom Harmony, with a specialization in crafting high-quality illustrated animations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven track record of leading creative teams and projects.
  • A commitment to excellence, innovation, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Experience in incorporating sound and music into animations independently is highly desirable.
  • UI experience is beneficial.
