Role Description

This is a contract-based hybrid role for a Junior Accountant. As a Junior Accountant, you will manage daily financial transactions, process accounts payable and receivable, maintain financial records, and assist in preparing reports. Responsibilities include reconciling bank statements, handling expense reports, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

The role also involves assisting management with budgeting, financial forecasting, business funding documentation and compliance requirements, cash flow monitoring, and operational financial reporting. Collaboration with internal teams and supporting financial planning initiatives will be key aspects of this role.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and record daily financial transactions accurately
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements, receivables, and financial records
  • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and accounting schedules
  • Monitor collections, payment tracking, and receivables aging
  • Assist in preparing expense reports and operational financial documentation
  • Support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting activities
  • Assist in preparing documentation and financial requirements for business funding or financing applications and compliance-related submissions
  • Maintain organized accounting records and financial documentation
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding project expenses and financial reporting
  • Support audits, financial reviews, and compliance processes
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive financial information
  • Assist management with financial analysis and operational reporting requirements
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and spreadsheet-based financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple financial tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of tax regulations, financial compliance, and accounting standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required
  • CPA license or ongoing CPA certification is an advantage
  • Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of accounting or finance-related experience preferred
  • Prior experience in digital marketing, agency, media, or project-based industries is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling financial forecasting and budget preparation
  • Familiarity with business funding documentation, financing compliance, and operational financial planning
  • Experience supporting SMEs, agencies, or fast-growing businesses
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams
