The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an Automotive Engineering QA / AI Trainer with at least 3 years of professional automotive engineering experience and practical Python skills. The role is listed at entry level and is performed as a part-time contractor position.
You will review and audit automotive engineering prompts and model responses. The work requires careful evaluation of calculations, equations, design rationale, technical notation, units, clarity, and rigor.

Requirements
You must have at least 3 years of professional experience in automotive engineering or a closely related field, along with a bachelor's degree. A master's degree or PhD is strongly preferred. Strong written English and clear, concise technical writing are required.
Practical Python ability is required for analysis and validation, including quick checks, notebooks, or basic scientific-stack workflows. You should be able to assess equations, engineering reasoning, design trade-offs, standards, notation, and units with meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional experience in vehicle systems, powertrain, controls, electronics, or a similar automotive engineering area
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree or PhD strongly preferred
- Practical Python for analysis and validation
- Strong written English
- Ability to follow detailed QA rubrics and change topics quickly
- Reliable computer and internet connection
- Ability to pass an AI interview and QA test
Preferred Background
Teaching, lecturing, or training experience is a strong plus. Previous experience with content review, large language model quality assurance, reinforcement learning from human feedback, or supervised fine-tuning is also beneficial, but not required by the source requirements.
