US Junior Bookkeeper

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented US Junior Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles who is eager to develop their skills while supporting US-based businesses across various industries.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior bookkeepers and accountants, assisting with day-to-day financial administration, bookkeeping, and reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain financial transactions accurately.
  • Assist with bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations.
  • Process supplier bills and business expenses.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Maintain and organize financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related administration.
  • Support month-end and year-end bookkeeping processes.
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules as required.
  • Assist with sales tax tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Review and categorize transactions in accounting software.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members.

Requirements

Essential

  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • 1–2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable remote work setup.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and accounting software quickly.

Preferred

  • Experience with accounting software such as:
  • QuickBooks Online
  • QuickBooks Desktop
  • Xero
  • Familiarity with:
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Payroll Processing
  • Sales Tax
  • Financial Reporting
  • Experience working with US-based businesses or accounting firms.
  • Knowledge of US bookkeeping practices and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience in a remote work environment.
