Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
  • Prepare and process bank reconciliations.
  • Handle payroll processing and related accounting tasks.
  • Prepare and assist with tax returns, including company and property tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support clients across various industries, including plumbing, automotive, and medical businesses.
  • Work with Xero and QuickBooks for accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Use Logit for tax return preparation and BGL for super fund accounting, where applicable.
  • Draft professional email correspondence and respond to client queries.
  • Ensure accounting and tax work is accurate and completed within deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Senior Accountant and firm management on assigned tasks.
Qualifications
  • CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Experience with tax return preparation.
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and payroll.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Logit or similar tax preparation software.
  • Experience with BGL or super fund accounting.
  • Experience supporting multiple Australian clients or industries.
  • Experience handling client queries and correspondence.
  • Previous experience working with an Australian accounting firm is an advantage.
