Bookkeeper / Job-Costing Controller
Bookkeeper / Job-Costing Controller
Location: Remote (Philippines) — must work New York hours, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
Type: Full-time contract
Compensation: target ~$1,200–$2,000/month depending on experience, plus performance-based bonuses The Role
Diskko needs someone to own cash. We need someone to come in, clean up our books, and then keep them clean — permanently. This is a bookkeeper role at its core, but with real responsibility attached: you're not just entering numbers, you're the person who tells us, job by job, whether we made money or lost it.
What You'll Do
Day-to-day bookkeeping- Attach receipts to the correct jobs and keep records organized and audit-ready
- Track every vendor payment and manage vendor payables
- Pay vendors on schedule
- Chase clients for accounts receivable and stay on top of collections
- Keep a running, accurate record of every dollar in and every dollar out — on every single job, no exceptions
- Maintain job-level profitability tracking, so at any moment we know if a specific job is green or red
- Build and maintain a clean, reliable system for job costing — every receipt, every payment, every dollar tied to the job it belongs to
- Flag jobs trending red early, before they're a surprise at close
- Clean up our existing books, which need real work
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financials to ownership
- Translate the numbers into something we can actually make decisions from — not just a spreadsheet, but a clear picture of what's working and what isn't
- Real bookkeeping/accounting experience , ideally job-costing or project-based accounting (agency, production, manufacturing, or similar environments where profitability is tracked per job/project rather than just company-wide)
- High attention to detail. Every receipt, every payment, every job — nothing gets lost or misfiled
- Comfortable presenting financials , not just producing them. You should be able to walk us through the numbers and flag what matters
- Self-directed. You're not waiting to be told what to reconcile — you see what's messy and you fix it
- Strong English language skills
- Available and reliable during New York business hours (8 AM–5 PM EST). This isn't a role you do on your own schedule
- Experience working overnight/New York-hours shifts preferred. If you've worked US-hours remote roles before, that's a strong plus
