Civil & Stormwater Design Engineer

Metric Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil & Stormwater Design Engineer to join our growing Australian engineering team remotely from the Philippines. This is a hands-on design role for someone who can confidently deliver civil and stormwater designs for projects in New South Wales, Australia.

This is a mandatory requirement: you must have demonstrated experience designing civil and stormwater works to Australian Standards and NSW local council guidelines. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.

What you will do Prepare civil and stormwater designs for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across NSW.

Design stormwater drainage systems, on-site detention (OSD), water-quality treatment, overland-flow paths, and legal point-of-discharge solutions.

Produce civil design drawings, plans, details, calculations and supporting documentation.

Coordinate designs with architects, builders, surveyors, hydraulic engineers and project teams.

Review local council DCPs, engineering design specifications and stormwater requirements to ensure compliant solutions.

Assist with development applications, construction certificates and civil construction documentation.

Work closely with Metric Engineering’s Australian-based engineers and project managers.

Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering.

Proven experience in civil and stormwater design for projects in NSW, Australia.

Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, including relevant drainage, stormwater and civil design standards.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply NSW local council engineering guidelines, DCPs and stormwater policies.

Experience with stormwater design tools such as DRAINS and/or MUSIC.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil design software such as Civil 3D or 12d.

Ability to prepare clear design calculations, drawings and technical documentation.

Strong written and spoken English, with confidence communicating in a professional Australian project environment.

Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently in a remote team.

Experience with flood modelling, WSUD, detention systems and subdivision design.

Experience preparing civil designs for DA, CC and construction stages.

Familiarity with Austroads standards and NSW subdivision/civil works requirements.

Previous experience working remotely with an Australian engineering consultancy.
