Position Overview

The Customer Support Operations Intern (Tech-Focused) is a hands-on, customer-facing role designed for a highly technical student who enjoys troubleshooting, systems support, and live problem-solving.

This intern will serve as a first point of contact for customers experiencing technical or system-related issues , providing support via online calls, screen sharing, and phone support , while also assisting with logistics-related inquiries.

This role is ideal for students pursuing Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical coursework who want real-world experience in technical customer operations within a logistics environment .

Key Responsibilities

Technical Customer Support (Primary Focus)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues customers experience with WSL systems, portals, documents, or workflows
  • Assist customers via phone calls, video calls, and screen-sharing sessions
  • Diagnose issues related to logins, data access, document uploads, system navigation, and user errors
  • Clearly explain technical solutions to non-technical customers
  • Escalate complex system or infrastructure issues to internal teams with proper documentation

Customer Support & Operations

  • Respond to customer inquiries related to shipments, billing, and service processes
  • Provide shipment status updates and basic operational support
  • Ensure customer issues are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend system or workflow improvements
  • Help build and maintain internal troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and support documentation
  • Assist with testing system changes or new tools before customer rollout
  • Support data cleanup and system accuracy efforts (CRM, TMS, customer portals)

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable providing live technical support via phone and online calls
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred (One or More)

  • Currently pursuing a degree in:
  • Information Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Business Administration with a strong technical focus
  • Supply Chain or Operations with technical coursework
  • Experience with:
  • Customer-facing technical support
  • CRM, TMS, or SaaS platforms
  • Basic troubleshooting, system testing, or IT support
  • Remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams, Google Workspace, etc.)
