We\'re seeking a skilled and collaborative Data insights Manager to join our team and play a key role in our data-driven journey. You\'ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify critical business challenges, leverage advanced analytics and AI to solve them, and ultimately drive innovation throughout Merseyrail.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with departments across the business to identify key challenges and opportunities, then design and deploy solutions to address them.
- Champion and promote the use of AI across the business, leading proof‑of‑concept initiatives and demonstrating its potential.
- Develop and maintain user‑friendly BI tools and dashboards, transforming raw data into actionable insights for informed decision‑making.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the organisation.
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into BI applications.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards for key business decisions.
- Continuously learn and experiment with new technologies and methodologies, sharing your knowledge with the team.
- Deliver training and support for internal users on newly developed applications.
- Analyse current workflows and applications to find opportunities for optimisation and maximise value.
- Assist the Solutions Architect with additional tasks as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Minimum of 5 years working in a related role.
- Experience with databases such as SQL & Oracle.
- Experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or similar.
- Experience designing and developing dashboards for desktop and mobile.
- Experience architecting BI solutions for finance, sales, marketing, procurement, and HR.
- Experience sourcing data from disparate systems with a good understanding of data models and ETL procedures.
- Full understanding of data quality, cleansing, and transformation processes.
- Ability to write complicated yet efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Experience implementing BI projects, especially in scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards.
- Enthusiastic about learning large and complex systems.
- Proven delivery of user‑friendly applications.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Results‑driven with the ability to take initiatives and handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, logical process thinking and end‑to‑end system concepts.
- Creative solutions to complex problems.
- Basic project management skills to plan and execute data‑related projects.
