DATA TESTER (Project-Based, Remote)

The Data Tester is responsible for validating data sources and ingestion pipelines, data integration and extraction processes, transformation logic, and the accuracy of target tables and files.

The ideal candidate must possess strong technical capabilities, including proficiency in Python and SQL, and be adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues. This role is responsible for safeguarding data quality throughout the pipeline by applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

This is a project-based engagement for a period of six (6) months, from July 2026 to December 2026. The role is remote, with occasional on-site work at the client site in BGC, Taguig.

Key Responsibilities:

· Data Testing: Conduct thorough testing of data flows, pipelines, and integration points to identify discrepancies, errors, and data quality issues.

· Data Validation: Perform high-level verification of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout the data journey, from source to destination.

· Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline data pipeline testing processes.

· Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and issues identified during testing.

· Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing of data flows and pipelines to evaluate system scalability, response times, and resource utilization.

· Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that changes or updates to data flows and pipelines do not introduce new issues or negatively impact existing functionality.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Work Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA), Software Testing, Data Testing, or Software Development.
  • At least 3 years of advanced SQL experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in test automation or data automation.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation, querying, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and other scripting languages used for test automation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data validation, data quality principles, and ETL/data pipeline testing.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, and Jenkins.
Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
