Electrical Inspector & Specification Writer – Part-Time/On Call/ Bulacan Area
We are looking for a licensed and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector and Specification Writer to work on a part-time, per-project or per-task basis, primarily covering residential building projects in Bulacan and nearby areas. The ideal candidate is self-employed, capable of independently conducting electrical inspections, and can prepare complete electrical specifications and reports with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Inspection
- Conduct on-site electrical inspections of residential buildings in Bulacan and surrounding areas
- Inspect electrical installations including wiring systems, panels, outlets, lighting, grounding, and load calculations to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Identify electrical deficiencies, safety hazards, and non-compliant installations and document findings
- Issue inspection reports and punch lists with clear findings and recommendations for corrective action
- Conduct follow-up inspections to verify completion of corrective works
- Independently prepare complete electrical specifications for residential building projects
- Develop and write technical specifications covering materials, equipment, installation methods, and workmanship standards
- Review and evaluate electrical plans and drawings for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance
- Prepare and submit inspection reports, technical write-ups, and other required documentation within agreed timelines
- Develop and maintain standardized electrical specification templates for residential use
- Ensure all inspections and specifications comply with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP), and applicable local ordinances in Bulacan
- Ensure compliance with other applicable standards including but not limited to the Fire Code (RA 9514) and relevant IEC or IEEE standards where applicable — an advantage
- Coordinate with the Building Official, local government units (LGUs), and other regulatory bodies as needed
- Coordinate directly with clients, project owners, contractors, and project engineers with minimal supervision
- Prepare and independently submit all required deliverables (inspection reports, specifications, punch lists, compliance certificates) per assigned task or project scope
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field — required
- Licensed Electrical Engineer (PEE) or Registered Master Electrician (RME) — valid PRC license required
- Accredited Electrical Inspector — an advantage
- Member in good standing of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) — an advantage
- Minimum 2–10 years of experience in electrical inspection, specification writing, or residential electrical design
- Strong knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) — required
- Familiarity with and ability to apply other applicable codes and standards as needed, including but not limited to the Fire Code (RA 9514), IEC standards, IEEE standards, and other internationally recognized electrical standards where applicable — an advantage
- Proficient in electrical design or drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar) — an advantage
- Strong technical writing and specification drafting skills
- Willing to travel within Bulacan and nearby areas for on-site inspections
- Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of independently managing and submitting work
- Has own transportation, tools, and equipment to support independent practice
- Employment Type: Independent Contractor (Self-Employed) — Part-Time or On-Call
- Commitment: Per project or per assigned task
- Billing: Contractor invoices own professional fees upon task/project completion
- Rate: Negotiable based on project scope and complexity
- Output: Contractor is responsible for independently preparing and submitting all required deliverables (inspection reports, electrical specifications, punch lists, templates, etc.)
- Location: On-site inspections within Bulacan area; specification and report writing may be done remotely
