Job Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to various internal and external production teams, working on a range of recorded, live, or broadcast events. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including dramatic leadership, informed authorities, and content partners, to deliver high-quality results. The Engineering Lead will also be responsible for managing, maintaining, and inventorying all media, organization, and communication systems and related equipment, ensuring that they are up-to-date and functioning effectively. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and support to internal and external production teams, working on a range of recorded, live, or broadcast events Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including dramatic leadership, informed authorities, and content partners, to deliver high-quality results Manage, maintain, and inventory all media, organization, and communication systems and related equipment Stay current with technological advancements in the video, display, and broadcast fields by attending industry conferences and workshops Adhere to Apple's high production standards and codes of ethical conduct Work effectively under pressure, maintaining calm and integrity in fast-paced and dynamic environments Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have a strong technical background, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills. The following qualifications are essential: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or broadcasting 2+ years of experience as a broadcast, video, or studio engineer in production environments (e.g., studios, networks, broadcast trucks, or post-production facilities) Experience with various equipment, including but not limited to: Multidyne, AJA, Envision Switch, Barco E2, EVS, Christie and Dolby Projection, Clearcom Free Speak II, and RTS radio systems Working knowledge of content creation and post-production workflows, including knowledge of common recording and playback formats and standards Experience with fiber send and receive in 4K, 2SI, and 1080p workflows Knowledge of HDR production, including S-Log3, HLG, and PQ workflows Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following skills and experience are preferred: Experience incorporating Apple technologies into SDI production Working knowledge or experience in film-style production is a plus Highly skilled in identifying and resolving operational weaknesses, with strong experience in signal routing, monitoring, and quality control Balanced production experience with the ability to assist in various areas (e.g., related experience as a sound technician, lighting specialist, camera operator, director, or other leadership roles) Unparalleled communication skills, with the ability to summarize and share critical information in a clear and concise manner Solid vendor management and project management skills History of delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced, challenging environment Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong technical skills, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining calm and integrity in fast-paced and dynamic environments Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational weaknesses Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, career growth and development are highly valued, and the company is committed to providing its employees with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
