Finance Manager | Dayshift | WFH
Role Purpose The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial activities, supporting project accounting, and ensuring accurate reporting across manufacturing and service operations.
This position works closely with project managers, procurement, engineering, and leadership teams to provide timely financial insights that help deliver innovative automation solutions to customers.
Key Position Accountabilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
- Assist in producing accurate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements, including BAS, GST, FBT, and payroll tax lodgments.
- Assist with audit preparation and external auditor engagement.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities across departments.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and support stocktakes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to inventory policies.
- Support inventory tracking across machinery builds, components, and consumables.
- Maintain accurate cost allocation for projects, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and overheads.
- Monitor project profitability and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
- Liaise with project managers to analyse variances and ensure cost transparency throughout each project lifecycle.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, focusing on working capital management, including receivables, payables, and inventory turnover.
- Oversee vendor invoice processing and payment runs, ensuring alignment with project demand planning.
- Manage customer invoicing schedules, progress claims, deposits, and milestone billing.
- Reconcile AP/AR ageing reports and follow up outstanding accounts.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
- Monitor and track depreciation schedules for all fixed assets in compliance with relevant requirements.
- Conduct regular fixed asset reviews to verify physical existence, condition, and alignment with the register.
- Prepare fixed asset reports and analyses for management and auditors.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to streamline cost-tracking processes and improve data accuracy.
- Identify and implement enhancements to ERP systems to support manufacturing and accounting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in financial workflows.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, fixed assets, and project accounting.
- Proven experience and exposure working with Australian and US accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required.
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project environments with complex financial transactions.
