Flooring Estimator - Home Based Role

A rare opportunity like this doesn't present itself often! Our client, a long established Commercial Flooring contractor based in Australia, is looking for an experienced Flooring Estimator with previous Australian experience to join their team and work from home in the Philippines. You will play a key role in helping with upcoming tenders and will report directly to the Estimating Manager based in Australia.

Our Client

Our client is a specialist flooring contractor who works on mid-sized commercial projects in Victoria, Australia. They are an established business with a 30 year history, supplying and installing a range of floor coverings, on a wide range commercial construction projects for a range of clients.

The Opportunity:

The Key objectives of the Flooring Estimator is to be responsible for material takeoffs and measurement and, over time, compile costs and quotes required to bid on the project successfully. Part of the role would also involve contacting clients and suppliers via email and phone

Accountabilities will include

  • Complete take-offs of all items relevant to complete the scope of works.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for all items required to complete the scope of works (via email and phone)
  • Liaise with clients tendering the project to discuss ambiguous items and clarify scope.
  • Compilation of project information and costs within Excel
  • Use tender platforms (e.g., EstimateOne) to identify suitable projects to bid on
  • Packaging the quotes ready for client submission
About you: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • Must have previously worked as a Flooring Estimator role working on Australian projects, alternatively have conducted extensive take-offs of flooring packages as a Quantity Surveyor on Australian projects
  • Strong understanding and experience in reading plans and architectural drawings
  • Advanced skills in Excel, whilst experience using Measure Square software would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English - you will be liaising with clients and suppliers via email and phone
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
