[Full Remote - Independent Contractor] English Interviewer for Recruitment Firm Based in Tokyo

What This Role Entails:

At PeopleX Inc. Active Connector Group, we connect top global engineers with Japan’s leading startups and high-growth tech companies, doing so in a way that differs from traditional recruiting firms. 🚀

We are seeking reliable remote team members based in the Philippines who can commit to 4 to 5 days per week (up to 30 hours weekly, with 5 days/week strongly preferred). We offer full schedule flexibility across Monday through Sunday - meaning weekend shifts are fully available and welcomed! Simply submit your bi-weekly availability, and we will schedule candidate interviews accordingly. Work comfortably from home with a stable internet connection and PC setup.

*Weekly hours depend on candidate interview volume and may fluctuate.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting professional video interviews with international talent strictly in English. (Questions are all provided. You simply need to follow them in order.)
  • Screening CVs and drafting detailed candidate assessment profiles in English. (Some translation is needed into Japanese, but we use AI for this work.)
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and security regarding candidate and client data.
  • Assisting with general recruitment operations and candidate management tasks.
  • Comfortably engaging with candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds and building quick rapport.
  • Comfortable using video transcription services and consenting to recording audio/video (internal use only).
Position Requirements: Must-Haves:
  • Resident of the Philippines with valid working rights
  • Availability to work 4 to 5 days per week (weekend availability is a big plus)
  • 1+ years of experience in an office role with candidate interview experience (e.g., Sourcer, Recruiter, etc.)
  • Fluent to Native-level English proficiency (both spoken and written)
  • Desktop/laptop PC with a reliable, high-speed internet connection
  • Strong attention to detail and concise written communication skills
Great to Have (but Not Required):
  • Background as an IT recruiter, technical sourcer, or IT engineer (1+ years experience)
  • Ability to review technical CVs and familiarity with basic software terms (programming languages, frameworks, tech stacks)
Hours & Rates:
  • Interview Duration: Each assessment process takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (tending closer to 1.5 hours as you gain experience).
  • Payment Terms & Schedule: Payments are calculated per completed task/interview and issued in Japanese Yen (JPY) via Wise Transfer.
  • Note: Standard Wise transaction fees are fully covered by us. Final payout amounts in local currency (PHP) will fluctuate based on prevailing Wise JPY-to-PHP exchange rates at the time of transfer.
  • Invoices are submitted at the beginning of the following month, with payouts processed on or around the 25th of that month.
  • Realistic Monthly Potential: Working a standard weekday schedule of 5–6 hours/day (25–30 hours/week) typically yields ¥120,000 to ¥160,000 JPY/month.
  • Interview Rates:Initial 10 Trial Interviews: ¥1,800 JPY per completed interview
  • Regular Rate (After 10 Trials):
  • Monday – Friday: ¥2,000 JPY per completed interview
  • Saturday – Sunday: ¥2,500 JPY per completed interview (Weekend Bonus Rate)
  • Onboarding & Training Pay:
  • Orientation & Manual Review: ¥5,000 JPY
  • Shadow Sessions: ¥1,000 JPY per session (Minimum 1 session, up to 3 paid shadow sessions)
  • Cancellations & No-Shows:
  • Candidate No-Show: ¥500 JPY (Interviewer waits up to 15 minutes max; applies to live interviews and shadow sessions)
  • Cancellation 3+ hours in advance: Unpaid
  • Miscellaneous:
  • Assisting New Member Shadowing: ¥1,000 JPY per session
  • Requested Video Meetings (up to 30 mins): ¥500 JPY
  • Slack & Email communications are included within interview compensation.
