Gadget Expert Appraiser
Job Summary
Gadget Expert Appraiser Officer responsible for the appraisal, valuation, and safekeeping of electronic gadgets and other pawnable items. The role requires strong technical knowledge in gadgets and electronics, market valuation, fraud detection, and identifying new categories of acceptable collateral items.
Key Responsibilities
Appraise and evaluate gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, gaming consoles, cameras, smartwatches, and accessories
Verify IMEI/serial numbers and detect counterfeit, tampered, or stolen items
Conduct market research and provide accurate gadget valuations based on current market trends
Create and maintain a baseline list (“basing”) of accepted pawnable gadgets
Recommend new gadget and electronic categories for pawnshop acceptance
Assist in fraud prevention, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring
Stay updated with the latest gadget models, specifications, and resale values
Provide technical support and training to staff when needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
Technical training or certification in gadget repair/appraisal is an advantage
At least 1–2 years of experience in gadget appraisal, electronics retail/service centers, or pawnshop operations
Strong knowledge of gadgets and consumer electronics
Experience in market research and item valuation is an advantage
Analytical, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing gadget markets
High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Ability to train staff and share technical expertise
