IT Systems Engineer (morning shift)

The IT Systems Engineer is a technical role primarily responsible for 2nd level technical assistance including diagnosing and resolving issues and problems with software, hardware, computer peripheral equipment, networks, cloud systems, databases, and the Internet.

This role also provides support in the deployment, installation and maintenance of systems.


Work Arrangement: ONSITE in Clark Office (eventually Hybrid, 1 x WFH/week)

Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PHT


About the Job

  • Providing remote assistance to end users for issues escalated from Level 1 support.

  • Delivering support for workstation-, server-, and networking systems.

  • Installation, monitoring and managing of client cloud infrastructure.

  • Support and change management of Microsoft (Office) 365 and Azure systems.

  • Establishing, operating and maintaining data communication systems.

  • Installing, monitoring and supporting web server hard- and software.

  • Performing server backup and recovery operations.


Mac/Apple

  • Escalated support


Windows Desktop OS (7-11)

  • Troubleshoot BSOD issues

  • Troubleshoot complex peripheral devices not working issues such as sound, video, USB ports

  • Troubleshoot PC performance issues

  • Any Desktop issues not resolved at SD level


Networking

  • Reboot, firmware upgrades and restoration of firewalls and routers

  • Investigate network performance using PRTG or other such tools

  • Install, restoration and reboot of switches (managed and unmanaged)

  • Investigate network adaptor issues on machines and Hyper – V host servers


Backup/Restore

  • Investigate issues with replication backups and resolve

  • Re-base and re-configure backup and replication jobs

  • Resolve NAS, SAN, HDD or cloud issues


Windows Server 2012-2019 and Active Directory

  • Resolve server performance issues

  • Resolve RDGateway, RDP issues

  • Install LoB applications and investigate general issues

  • Modify Group policies / write new ones

  • Intermediate troubleshooting of DNS, DHCP

  • Installation and configuration of network printers and network drives

  • Investigate and resolve space issues on HDD

  • Expansion and modification of drives

  • Investigate DFS replication / DFS issues

  • Investigate Share / NTFS permissions issues on AD / files and folders


Microsoft 365, Teams, Sharepoint, & Onedrive

  • Escalated support


Security

  • Setup MFA and conditional access policies

  • Investigate and resolve issues with the above policies

  • Investigate potential breaches and prevent any further data theft

  • Setup password requirements, log out policies etc


Hyper-V virtualization

  • Reboot virtual machines/shut down

  • Increase resources such as CPU, RAM and Disks

  • Investigate any critical issues with VHD Files


Azure

  • Escalated support and configuration


Exchange online and on-prem

  • Escalated cases from SD Team

  • Investigate Auto-mapping, Auto-discover policies.

  • Investigate sync issues from on premise to cloud, exchange attributes etc


Endpoint Deployment & Management (Intune / Autopilot)

  • Manage Intune environments for endpoint configuration and control

  • Ensure all applicable customer devices are enrolled and managed within Intune

  • Deploy and maintain Windows Autopilot provisioning profiles

  • Configure device policies, compliance rules, and security baselines

  • Package and deploy applications (M365, Win32, LOB) via Intune

  • Support device enrolment and Autopilot onboarding processes

  • Troubleshoot enrolment, policy, and deployment issues

  • Maintain device lifecycle (build, rebuild, decommission)

  • Support Azure AD / Entra ID device integration and access controls

  • Maintain standardised, automated deployment configurations

  • Document configurations, processes, and deployment standards


Your Qualification:

  • Very high-level verbal and written English

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support roles

  • Extensive experience working within ticketing systems and monitoring / RMM systems

  • Extensive knowledge of modern desktop environments Microsoft Windows 10 — 11.

  • Solid understanding of end-user hardware setup, support and troubleshooting.

  • Good fundamental Networking experience.

  • Significant Microsoft Server experience with good understanding of Virtualization in Hyper-V.

  • Extensive Microsoft Azure Active Directory/Entra/Hybrid experience.

  • Extensive experience with Endpoint deployment and management with Intune and Autopilot

  • Experience with setting up users, groups and configuration of Microsoft 365

  • Advanced knowledge of modern backup and disaster recovery technologies.

  • Fundamental understanding of IT security principles.
