Job Search and Application Assistant

Overview

This role executes a job-search system on behalf of the hiring manager: submitting applications at volume, and producing tailored resume/cover-letter drafts for a shortlist of target companies using provided AI-assisted templates. This is an execution role, not a strategy or writing-from-scratch role — every step, including how to generate application materials, is documented and templated.

This posting reflects an updated version of the role: application-material drafting is now done through a shared Claude AI workflow rather than by manually adapting templates by hand. Familiarity with using an AI chat assistant carefully and precisely is now a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Submit job applications daily via LinkedIn Easy Apply and directly on company career sites, following provided search filters and quotas

• Run an automated bulk-apply tool (LazyApply) 2-3x per week and review its output for accuracy

• For a shortlist of target companies, generate tailored resume and cover letter drafts by pasting the job posting and company details into the provided Claude project templates (Resume Prompt and Cover Letter documents), reviewing the AI output for accuracy and tone before saving as a draft — not submitted without approval

• Flag anything the AI output gets wrong or overstates about the candidate's experience rather than sending it through as-is

• Maintain a shared spreadsheet: log every application with company, role, date, resume version, and status

• Spend ~20-30 minutes daily on LinkedIn engagement (commenting on posts from people at target companies)

• Send a short weekly summary report of activity and results

Requirements

• Active or willing to set up a Claude.ai Pro subscription — required to run the resume/cover letter generation templates (see Tools & Access)

• Comfortable following a detailed written AI prompt precisely — this role calls for careful execution of provided instructions, not creative improvisation

• Strong written English (this role touches employer-facing materials)

• Comfortable and fast with LinkedIn, spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel), and learning new browser tools

• Meticulous, low-error data entry — this role lives inside a tracking spreadsheet

• Trustworthy with limited, clearly-scoped account access (no financial or email access required or given)

• Prior virtual assistant, recruiting coordinator, or admin experience a plus but not required

Tools & Access Provided

• Job Search Tracker (Google Sheets) — the primary workspace

• A Claude AI project pre-loaded with the Resume Prompt and Cover Letter templates — candidate pastes in the job posting and company info and reviews the generated draft

• Saved LinkedIn searches and job alerts already configured

• LazyApply and Simplify accounts (or equivalents), set up in advance

• A written playbook covering every task in this brief step by step

Hours & Compensation

Estimate 1-2 hours per day, 5-6 days per week.
