Litigation Assistant – Complex Australian Bank Claim
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Litigation Assistant to provide ongoing support in managing a complex Australian banking and finance claim.
This is a hands-on role working directly with the case owner for approximately 2–4 hours per day. The successful applicant will help coordinate the matter, organise evidence, support the preparation of expert reports, and ensure tasks and deadlines are properly managed.
Key responsibilities
Provide daily litigation and administrative support to the case owner
Maintain the case plan, task list, chronology and deadlines
Organise, index and review a large volume of legal and financial documents
Manage electronic evidence folders and document databases
Locate documents required for affidavits, pleadings and expert reports
Prepare document summaries, evidence schedules and claims matrices
Assist with correspondence to solicitors, counsel and experts
Coordinate forensic accounting, banking conduct, property, liquidation and business-loss expert reports
Track information and documents requested by each expert
Review reports for missing information, inconsistencies and referencing issues
Help prepare chronologies, briefing materials and document bundles
Record meetings and follow up agreed actions
Maintain accurate and confidential case records
Required experience
Experience as a litigation assistant, paralegal or legal case manager
Strong experience managing complex litigation documents
Understanding of Australian litigation processes
Banking, commercial finance, insolvency, receivership or property-dispute experience is highly regarded
Excellent written English and professional communication skills
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with financial information
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive and document-management systems
Reliable, responsive and able to work independently
The ideal candidate
You will be practical, methodical and proactive. You must be able to turn a large and complex case into an organised daily work program, identify missing documents and follow tasks through to completion.
This role does not involve providing independent legal advice. You will work under the direction of the case owner and alongside the appointed legal and expert team.
Hours and engagement
Part-time, ongoing engagement
Approximately 2–4 hours per day
Regular availability during Sydney business hours
