MRO Aviation Planning Manager

Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for the completion of Maintenance Service Offer (MSO) estimates and work pack builds in line with company standards and NAA of relevant governing authority and leadership of the planning team for both line and base maintenance. This will cover both managed fleet and 3rd party maintenance events. Produce performance dashboards and data to support business objectives. Assists the General Manager and Operation Team in continuous improvement activities, to support centralization, standardization and optimization of the team, its processes, and systems. To maintain constant communication within the network to ensure correct and accurate workload and arrange accordingly.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the General Manager, Sales, and Operations to ensure the timely response to customer enquiries.
  • Primary communication focal for updates to customers
  • Regularly reports the status of the daily planning department’s work progress.
  • Responsible for providing estimates in line with customer maintenance service requests, including Base, Line, Drop-in and AOG using the company business operating system.
  • Develop work packs in line with MRO license regulatory requirements for Maintenance use.
  • Responsible for the coordination of pre-scheduled maintenance activity, including but not limited to special tooling, third party services, etc.
  • Assists the team on planning and controlling the departmental budget to identify excessive spending, suggest cost savings and ensure that maintenance procedures are performed according to the budget.
  • Develop and provide regular and ad-hoc reports requested by the department guaranteeing accurate data and quality to enable managers to take appropriate actions.
  • Ensure applicable Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins are correctly accounted for and fully understood to embody in accordance with established procedures.
  • Recording of completed tasks cards onto the company business operating system.
  • Review all aircraft maintenance project invoices/billings prior sending out to customer/operators, service partners and OEM to ensure the accuracy of the cost/prices.
  • Provide 3 mos. work projections, man hours availability and hangar capacity to Operations and Sales for the potential incoming projects (Base Mx/Outstations).
  • Mentor and develop skill and knowledge of reportees
  • Any additional task deemed required by MRO Operation and/or Production Planning and the immediate Manager.

Job Specifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant disciplines.
  • FAA - A&P mechanics license or local licence is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • More than 15 years in Aviation industry, preferable on the Business and/or private aviation experience within the planning function.
  • Liaison experience with the CAAP, FAA, EASA, CAAC and/or other aviation industry agents.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interpreting manufacturers SB’s, AD, Mandatory requirements.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Background exposure with both domestic and international vendors.
  • Demonstrated and understanding of international travel, international customs, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of inspection procedures, methods, equipment, and accepted industry standards
  • Experience with Maintenance Tracking System (such us CAMP, CMP & Flight Docs) and MRO Operating System (such as SAP, IFS, Corridor & CAFAM).
  • Deep understanding of OEM and Aftermarket Support Programs.
  • Deep understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Proposal (Budgeting and Costing).
  • Extensive use off Microsoft Office tools, especially project and excel.
