Netsuite Developer | WFH
The role mixes ongoing operational support, feature builds, and project-scale work. In a typical month you would expect to:
Customisation and feature builds
- Build and maintain NetSuite customisations across items, sales orders, purchase orders, item fulfilments, invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, credit memos, and our custom records (SSR, Brand record, CII, CRA/VRA, etc.).
- Author SuiteScript 2.x (User Event, Client, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, RESTlets, Suitelets) for new functionality and bug fixes.
- Design and maintain saved searches, workflows (SuiteFlow), and custom fields to support ops, ecommerce, and reporting requirements.
- Build and edit advanced PDF templates (invoices, certificates of completion, packing slips, portal templates), including subsidiary-aware variants and multi-line/grouped invoice formats.
Integration work
- Own the NetSuite side of the Magento integration: item sync (Brand:Suite ↔ NetSuite CII ↔ Magento), price level updates, advanced pricing, image and content sync, customer JSON payloads, order creation and acknowledgement flows.
- Maintain and extend the DHL Express integration: PO creation, billing imports, tracking writeback, and the transition from Easyship to Machship to direct carrier APIs.
- Build and maintain RESTlet endpoints used by external systems — for example, the customer/Payer Alias search endpoint and the customer portal's BFF layer (forthcoming).
- Wire up Kognitos automation triggers for case management, vendor bill processing, and document handling.
- Investigate and resolve issues raised by ops, customer service, and commercial teams — typically several per week, often with same-day or next-day turnaround.
- Make small UX and field-level improvements to NetSuite forms and sublists that compound into better day-to-day usability for the ops team.
- Build and tune saved searches and dashboards for invoice groups, actualisation status, channel mismatches, and other recurring operational views.
Alongside the BAU queue, you will own pieces of larger initiatives. Current examples on the books:
- Brand:Suite ↔ NetSuite item sync — full bidirectional sync of producers, brands, pricing methods, and inventory items.
- 3PL Portal — a NetSuite portlet-based UI for our warehouse partners covering on-hand and inbound packaging, outbound packaging, and order status.
- SSR migration to Machship — moving from Easyship to Machship for SSR-driven carrier integration.
- VSR (Vendor Service Record) and Vendor Onboarding Form — new custom record and approval flow.
- Transaction categorisation — defaulting and reconciliation of line department, class, customer channel, vendor channel, receiver type, and lane against SO source forms.
- Invoice Group functionality — multi-SO consolidated invoicing, including the PDF and approval workflow.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on NetSuite development experience, including production SuiteScript 2.x work across multiple script types.
- Genuine curiosity about adjacent systems and a willingness to learn them. NetSuite is your specialism, but you are willing — and ideally keen — to learn enough Magento, Next.js, carrier API, and RPA tooling to investigate integration issues end-to-end, do reasonable self-help, and hand off cleanly to the right specialist when it's beyond NetSuite scope. "Not my system" is not an acceptable answer in this role; "I've looked at it, here's where the issue sits, here's what I need from the Magento contractor" is.
- Demonstrated, prudent use of AI tooling to support your coding work. We expect you to use AI assistants (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar) where they genuinely accelerate the work — scaffolding scripts, drafting saved-search formulas, reading unfamiliar payloads, writing test cases, drafting documentation. Equally, we expect you to know when not to: production-impacting SuiteScript, integration glue with side effects, and anything that touches financial transactions still requires you to read, understand, and own every line you commit. We are looking for someone who treats AI as a competent junior pair — useful, fallible, never autonomous on consequential code. In your application, please give a concrete example of how you've used AI tooling well in a recent build, and one example of where you deliberately did not.
- Strong SuiteScript 2.x skills: User Event, Client, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, Suitelets, RESTlets, and Workflow Action scripts.
- Working knowledge of SuiteFlow (declarative workflows) and when to use it versus SuiteScript.
- Solid grasp of saved searches and SuiteQL, including formula columns, joins, and performance considerations on large transaction volumes.
- Experience building and modifying custom records, custom fields, custom lists, and custom transaction forms.
- PDF/HTML template development for NetSuite advanced PDF templates, including Freemarker syntax.
- Experience with NetSuite REST and SuiteTalk APIs, including building and consuming RESTlet endpoints with token-based or OAuth 2.0 authentication.
- Working experience integrating NetSuite with at least one ecommerce platform or external system — Magento is ideal; Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar is acceptable.
- Comfort working in a multi-subsidiary NetSuite environment, including subsidiary-aware records, intercompany flows, and per-subsidiary form/template variants.
- Strong written English. Most task briefs arrive as short text instructions; you need to ask the right clarifying questions in writing and document your work clearly.
- Reliable async working style with AU business-hours overlap (Manila is +2/+3 of Sydney; full overlap is straightforward).
- Competitive Compensation Package: An attractive salary and comprehensive benefits aligned with market standards. Work-Life Balance Support: Paid time off, wellness programs, and initiatives designed to enhance employees' work-life balance and personal productivity.
- Career Growth and Development: Opportunities for training and development to help employees advance their skills and grow within the company.
- Supportive Leadership: A collaborative environment with leaders who provide guidance, mentorship, and recognition to empower employees in their roles
