OJT for IT Students
The Intern – IT Support assists the Information Technology Department in providing day-to-day technical support to internal users. This role offers practical exposure to end-user computing, workstation deployment and maintenance, software installation, troubleshooting, and first-level technical support, while ensuring compliance with JDI's IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of IT personnel, the trainee shall perform the following tasks:
• Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of desktop and laptop workstations for new hires and existing employees in accordance with approved IT standards and configurations.
• Support the installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of operating systems and standard business software, following established IT procedures and documentation.
• Provide first‑level technical support to internal users by responding to IT incidents and service requests and escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
• Assist in basic hardware and peripheral troubleshooting, including monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and network connectivity, under supervision.
• Help maintain accurate records of IT assets, including workstation assignments, software installations, and equipment status.
• Support IT deployment, upgrade, and migration activities, including assisting users with data backup, post‑deployment checks, and initial user guidance.
• Observe and comply with IT security, access control, and acceptable use policies, and promptly report any observed issues or risks to supervising IT personnel.
• Perform documentation and other IT support tasks as assigned to support daily IT operations and service continuity.
