PART TIME – Accountant – Xero & Canadian Accounting (Philippines - Remote)

This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate, organized and CRA-ready financial records.

This is a long-term remote position suitable for a professional based in the Philippines .

Position – Accountant / Bookkeeper – Xero & Canadian Accounting (PART-TIME)

Degree – Bachelors/master’s degree or Equivalent education in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.

Location 100% Work from Home (Philippines)

Time – 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM Philippines Time. (part time slot will be any within it).

Preferred – Canadian accounting, GST/HST and CRA experience

Salary – PHP 11,000–16,000 per month

Required – You must have reliable internet, your own computer/laptop, a professional workspace, strong written and spoken English, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Monday to Friday Only. Canadian Pacific Time Zone for working hours

Requirements

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete and accurate bookkeeping in Xero
  • Record and categorize approximately 200–250 transactions per month
  • Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts monthly
  • Prepare customer invoices and record payments
  • Process and maintain approximately 70 employee payslips.
  • Record and reconcile payroll
  • Properly account for Canadian GST/HST
  • Complete monthly financial close
  • Prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, A/R and A/P reports
  • Maintain invoices, receipts and supporting documentation
  • Keep accounting records organized and CRA audit-ready
  • Identify errors, unusual transactions and missing documentation
  • Coordinate with PrismTeck management on accounting matters
  • Coordinate with our Canadian tax accountant at year-end
  • Prepare year-end schedules and record approved adjusting entries
What We Are Looking For: We are not looking for someone who simply enters transactions into Xero. We want someone who takes ownership of the books, reconciles accounts properly, identifies errors, asks questions when something does not make sense and ensures that supporting documentation is properly maintained. Our objective is to have clean, accurate and CRA-ready books every month , with a smooth year-end handover to our Canadian tax accountant.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent education in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience .
  • Strong practical experience with Xero .
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, A/R, A/P and payroll.
  • Good Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with:
  • Previous experience supporting Canadian companies.
  • Knowledge of Canadian GST/HST.
  • Experience working with Canadian accounting/CPA firms.
  • Experience maintaining records for CRA compliance.
  • Xero certification.
  • Multi-currency accounting experience.
Working Hours: Approximately from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (Canada). This corresponds approximately to 9:00 PM–5:00 AM (Philippines Time) . The successful candidate must be available for any working block within this window, as mutually agreed. For example: 9 PM–1 AM, 10 PM–2 AM, 11 PM–3 AM, etc.
