QuickBooks Bookkeeper / Accountant — Remote
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable QuickBooks Bookkeeper/Accountant to support a U.S.-based CPA firm. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in QuickBooks, excels at reconciliations and cleanup work, communicates clearly in English, and can work independently while meeting deadlines.
Location: Remote — Philippines (applicants nationwide)
Compensation: ₱150-600 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: This could be full or part-time and must be willing to work partial US hours.
Responsibilities
Perform accurate bank, credit-card, loan, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Maintain and organize client books in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
Categorize transactions and identify missing, duplicate, uncategorized, or questionable entries.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly and thoroughly.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit-and-loss statements and balance sheets.
Assist with bookkeeping catch-up and cleanup projects.
Maintain supporting schedules for fixed assets, loans, owner contributions/distributions, payroll, and other balance-sheet accounts.
Communicate professionally with the firm’s team regarding open questions, required documents, and completed work.
Follow established bookkeeping procedures, naming conventions, and client-file organization standards.
Protect confidential financial and client information at all times.
Required qualifications
Demonstrated, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online; QuickBooks Desktop experience is preferred.
Excellent reconciliation skills, including the ability to locate and correct discrepancies—not merely mark accounts as reconciled.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, including debits/credits, accruals, chart-of-accounts structure, and financial statements.
Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of accurate work.
Clear, professional spoken and written English; you must be comfortable participating in video calls and communicating with a U.S.-based team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Reliable high-speed internet, a dedicated professional workspace, and a backup internet and/or power plan.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, ask good questions, and meet deadlines.
Preferred qualifications
Experience supporting U.S.-based businesses, CPA firms, or accounting firms.
QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
Experience with multi-company bookkeeping, real estate, professional services, e-commerce, or payroll-related accounting.
Experience preparing books for year-end tax preparation.
