This requirement is essential because a significant part of your job will involve speaking directly with our clients by telephone. We are looking for someone who can build trust, communicate clearly, and make clients feel comfortable during every conversation. In addition, every application MUST include a two-minute video recorded entirely in English. Applications submitted without the required video will not be considered.

About Our Firm

We are an established U.S. plaintiff's personal injury law firm dedicated to helping seriously injured people obtain justice after accidents. We are seeking an exceptional Registered Nurse to join our legal team. Although this is not a clinical nursing position, your nursing experience will play a vital role in helping our attorneys understand our clients' injuries and medical treatment.

Position Overview

Your primary responsibility is to become the firm's expert on each client's medical treatment. Before speaking with a client, you will thoroughly review the case file and all available medical records so you fully understand the client's injuries and treatment history.

You should know

  • Every physician and medical provider the client has seen
  • Every hospital or emergency room visit
  • Specialists consulted
  • Physical therapy and other rehabilitation
  • Diagnostic tests and imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray, EMG, etc.)
  • Surgical procedures
  • Current treatment status
  • Future treatment recommendations
Only after you have a complete understanding of the file will you contact the client. Your conversations will update the legal file and ensure that no important medical information is overlooked.

Primary Responsibilities

Medical Record Review

  • Review and understand medical records before contacting clients.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's injuries and treatment.
  • Identify missing records or treatment gaps.
  • Maintain an accurate medical chronology.

Client Telephone Interviews

Conduct compassionate and professional telephone interviews to determine:
  • Whether the client has seen any new medical providers
  • Whether they have had new testing or imaging
  • Whether they have been hospitalized
  • Whether surgery has been recommended or performed
  • How current treatment is progressing
  • Whether symptoms have improved or worsened
  • What activities they can no longer perform because of their injuries
  • What activities they can still perform, but only with difficulty or significant modification
  • Their current pain levels and limitations
  • Future appointments and treatment plans

Documentation

  • Enter detailed information into the case management system following firm procedures.
  • Update provider lists.
  • Order medical records using firm procedures.
  • Follow up on outstanding records.

Additional Responsibilities

You may also assist with:
  • New client intake
  • Lien investigations
  • General legal administrative work
  • Other projects assigned by attorneys or paralegals

Qualifications

Required

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum three years of direct patient care experience
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong knowledge of hospitals, specialists, therapies, imaging, and medical treatment
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills
  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • Quiet professional home office

Your role is to gather and document information accurately for legal purposes only.
