Retail Assistant – Part Time, Evenings & Weekends

Hours: 8 hours across 2 days per week, including weekday evenings and all day Saturdays & Sundays.
Pay: £10.95 per hour (ages 16‑20) / £12.81 per hour (ages 21+).

About the role

We are looking to recruit a retail assistant for our shop in Tong Street, Bradford. The position is a permanent part‑time role with a variety of shift patterns, minimum of 8 hours over 2 days each week. The role requires availability for weekday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

  • Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
  • Help customers find the items they are looking for.
  • Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and delivering a positive close with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
  • Handle stock with care whilst working deliveries – quickly placing products into our freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy.
  • Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work.
  • Enjoy being busy; able to juggle deliveries, till service, customer assistance, cleaning and stock rotation duties.
  • Reliability – dependable team member who meets commitments and does not let the team down.
  • Flexibility with shift changes – able to cover slightly different hours when required, with rota planned three weeks in advance and personal commitments taken into consideration.
  • Completion of an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the position.
