Senior Accountant - Fixed Asset (Work from Home)
Basic Function:
Responsible for accurately recording, maintaining, and reconciling fixed asset records, including asset acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and capital expenditures. Ensures timely and accurate reporting and compliance with accounting policies and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor the fixed asset clearing account in Oracle.
- Record fixed asset additions, transfers, disposals, and retirements accurately and timely.
- Track project build-out costs and ensure timely capitalization upon project completion.
- Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger balances with the general ledger.
- Prepare and validate journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update fixed asset and accumulated depreciation schedules.
- Perform account analysis and investigate variances as requested by management.
- Prepare fixed asset audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Monitor capital expenditures against approved capital budgets.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly CapEx and fixed asset roll-forward reports.
- Prepare annual fixed asset tax and insurance reports.
- Identify, assess, and escalate accounting issues or delays when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related accounting field; BS Accountancy preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in general accounting or fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with fixed asset accounting and ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Experience working with a US-based or multinational company is preferred.
- BPO or Shared Services experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and evaluation skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
