Now it’s time for a role where you’re trusted to put that experience to work.</li><li>We’re looking for a <strong>Senior Australian Tax Accountant</strong> to support one of our Australian clients across tax and accounting matters for <strong>individuals, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds</strong>.</li><li>This is a quality-over-quantity hire. You’ll take ownership of work from start to finish, investigate when the numbers don’t tell the whole story, and deliver accurate, review-ready work without needing someone looking over your shoulder.</li><li>If you know your way around Australian tax and can confidently turn complex accounts into clean, compliant outcomes, this could be your next move.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.</li><li>Reconcile GST accounts, ATO information, and BAS statements.</li><li>Prepare monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements and Income Activity Statements.</li><li>Prepare and review PAYG statements.</li><li>Advise clients on Australian tax and reporting obligations.</li><li>Research Australian tax legislation and requirements.</li><li>Prepare full tax plans for review.</li><li>Prepare and review superannuation reports.</li><li>Manage end-to-end accounting work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.</li><li>Produce accurate, complete, and review-ready work.</li><li>Communicate proactively with clients and the wider accounting team.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications (Must-Have):</strong></p><ul><li>Around <strong>7+ years of relevant accounting experience</strong>.</li><li>Strong experience working with <strong>Australian accounting firms / Australian public practice</strong>.</li><li>Solid knowledge of <strong>Australian taxation</strong>.</li><li>Proven end-to-end accounting experience.</li><li>Strong <strong>Xero</strong> capability.</li><li>Proficiency in <strong>Excel</strong>.</li><li>Knowledge of <strong>Division 7A</strong>.</li><li>Experience preparing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.</li><li>Experience with <strong>GST, BAS, PAYG, and ATO reconciliations</strong>.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal manager supervision.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work consistently.</li><li>Stable track record in similar accounting roles.</li><li>Proactive, reliable, and professional approach to work.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience preparing full tax plans.</li><li>Experience preparing and reviewing superannuation reports.</li><li>Strong Australian tax legislation research skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to identify and investigate accounting discrepancies before review.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Join PeoplePartners</strong></p><p>At PeoplePartners, great work should come with great reasons to stay.
