Senior Bookkeeper (Day Shift | AU Client | Work from Home)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely bookkeeping services across a diverse client base
  • Handle end-to-end bookkeeping: AP/AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare BAS, PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and monthly/quarterly reports
  • Maintain accurate client records, file notes, and daily timesheets
  • Monitor job progress, meet deadlines, and communicate any issues promptly
  • Liaise professionally with clients and the ATO as required
  • Manage and handle the bookkeeping team based in the Philippines
  • Work collaboratively with senior team members and assist in mentoring junior staff
  • Use XPM Job Manager to manage workflow and tasks efficiently
  • Contribute to process improvements and uphold company standards
  • Perform additional administrative or bookkeeping duties as required

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping, preferably supporting Australian accounting firms or clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud-based accounting software, including Xero Practice Manager, Xero, and MYOB.
  • Strong understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in revenue recognition and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 1–2 years of experience managing, supervising, or mentoring accounting team members.
