JOCES is a civil engineering consultancy based in Sydney, Australia, specialising in civil engineering design, flooding assessment, and Development Application consultancy for Councils and private developers.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a superstar Senior Civil Drafter (Remote, Philippines-based) to help deliver our civil design projects. This role will suit someone has a growth mindset and wants to do more than just drafting: someone ready to take ownership of their work, support the team, and grow with the business.

You'll work directly with our Sydney-based senior engineers, delivering practical design solutions for Councils and private developers. There's genuine opportunity for career progression here.

Responsibilities

  • Civil drafting: stormwater drainage layouts, road design, subdivisions, carparks, earthworks, pavements, and Council projects
  • QGIS work: mapping, spatial data, catchment and site plans
  • Admin and documentation support: drawing registers, file management, report and submission formatting
  • Work closely with engineers to translate concepts into practical design outcomes
  • Support project delivery timeframes and drafting quality standards
  • Take ownership of your work and help shape our design systems and processes
Requirements
  • Must have min. 5 years’ experience in civil drafting/design/engineering.
  • Based in the Philippines, able to work aligned with Australian business hours (Sydney time/ AEST/AEDT)
  • Advanced in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Some knowledge of QGIS.
  • Strong technical knowledge of roads, drainage, stormwater, flooding and subdivisions
  • Willing to learn our standards, workflows, and software (we'll train you on the specifics)
  • Strong teamwork and reliable communication (written and verbal English)
  • High attention to detail, follow company’s processes and confident checking your own work
  • Organised and comfortable managing your own tasks remotely and effectively
  • Full-Time, Sydney time AEST/AEDT.

  • Very passionate about civil engineering industry and making a difference to the JOCES team and the community.
  • Team player and a growth mindset.
  • Previous experience working with Australian companies or on Australian projects (preferred, not essential)
  • Working knowledge of Australian codes and council engineering standards
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Civil Design or Civil Engineering degree
  • Familiarity with MUSIC, DRAINS, or TUFLOW a plus but not required
  • Interest in AI
