About The Role:

As a senior member of the Security Team, you will lead the delivery of the client’s Security Solutions, applying advanced technical expertise to safeguard them and their clients against evolving cyber threats. Beyond core SOC monitoring and response, you will drive threat analysis and proactive threat hunting, provide leadership during major security incidents, optimise the security tooling stack, and contribute to the planning, reporting and broader security strategy of the SOC division.

You will act as a senior escalation point and technical mentor for the SOC team, setting the standard for what “great” looks like in security operations.

About the Job:

  • Act as the senior escalation point (L2/L3) for security incidents and alerts, leading investigations, containment, remediation, and recovery efforts.
  • Manage and optimise security platforms including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Intune, Microsoft 365, Azure, EDR, SIEM, email security, and cloud security tools.
  • Conduct proactive threat hunting, threat intelligence analysis, malware investigations, and detection engineering using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Develop, tune, and automate security monitoring, alerting, and SOAR workflows to improve efficiency and reduce false positives.
  • Perform security reviews, vulnerability and patch management, Secure Score optimisation, compliance monitoring, and security posture reporting.
  • Produce client-facing security reports, incident reviews, and strategic recommendations to improve cyber resilience and maturity.
  • Lead security onboarding, uplift, and remediation projects for new and existing clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge base articles, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor SOC analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing, process improvement, and SOC capability development.
  • Support client engagements, security reviews, pre-sales activities, and security strategy initiatives.

Your Qualification:

  • 4+ years in a SOC or security operations role, including senior or escalation responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel), EDR/XDR (Defender), threat hunting and detection engineering.
  • Experience working to security frameworks: CIS v8, Essential Eight and ISO 27001.
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate (MS-500) or equivalent Microsoft security certification.
  • Experience with ConnectWise SecOps
  • Understands and is able to identify security alerts and incidents and remediate lower-level incidents.
  • Experience with Barracuda email ATP
