Software Engineer Intern (PHILIPPINES ONLY)

oboda is looking for an Enterprise Software Engineer to help build AI-native operational infrastructure for Philippine enterprises.

This role combines software engineering, AI implementation, customer discovery, and enterprise solution design. You will work directly with customers to understand operational challenges, identify critical blockers, and develop solutions that leverage modern software and AI technologies.

You will regularly visit customer sites, understand how businesses actually operate, and work with our Product, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success teams to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Enterprise Software Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy features across the oboda platform.
  • Build integrations with third-party systems such as accounting, ERP, e-commerce, CRM, and logistics platforms.
  • Design scalable solutions for complex enterprise operational requirements.
  • Balance customer-specific requirements with long-term product scalability.
AI Engineering
  • Design and implement AI-powered workflows, copilots, agents, automations, and retrieval systems.
  • Build integrations with: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini APIs
  • Develop AI-powered tools for operational workflows, analytics, document processing, and decision support.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging AI technologies that create value for customers.
  • Work with vector databases, RAG architectures, MCP servers, agent frameworks, and AI orchestration tools.
Customer Success and Field Work
  • Conduct onsite visits to warehouses, offices, stores, and operational facilities.
  • Understand customer workflows across inventory, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and sales operations.
  • Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders and end users.
  • Translate operational challenges into scalable software solutions.
Forward Deployed Solutioning
  • Own critical customer issues from diagnosis through resolution.
  • Investigate technical, operational, and process-related bottlenecks.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Client Activation teams.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for enterprise implementations.
Product Improvement
  • Identify recurring operational challenges that can be solved through product enhancements.
  • Contribute directly to product roadmap discussions.
  • Develop reusable frameworks and implementation patterns that improve future deployments.
Qualifications
  • Experience building and maintaining production software systems.
  • Strong experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and integrations.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Nice to haves
  • Hands-on experience integrating OpenAI, Claude, Gemini APIs
  • Experience building AI-powered applications in production environments.
  • Understanding of: RAG, Vector Databases, Prompt Engineering, Function calling/Tools, AI agents and orchestration, LLM evaluation
Business and Communication Skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for customers.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and executives.
Other experience
  • ERP, supply chain, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, or enterprise software experience.
  • Customer-facing implementation or solutions engineering experience.
  • Experience deploying AI systems in operational business environments.
  • Startup experience.
