Purpose of the project

The techno-functional project manager will act as the interface between the Cards Product team and Technology team, ensuring seamless delivery of strategic initiatives such as BNPL card launch, One-Credential implementation, digital onboarding, and loyalty migration. This role demands a strong technology background combined with business acumen to drive projects to completion within aggressive timelines.

Key activities

Core responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Project leadership: Manage end-to-end delivery of BNPL card and One-Credential projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility. Oversee digital onboarding initiatives to enable instant credit card issuance. Drive loyalty platform migration and ensure operational readiness.
  • Stakeholder management: Serve as the primary liaison between product, technology, compliance, and operations teams. Facilitate workshops to define requirements and solution design.
  • Technical & business integration: Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure smooth integration with card issuance platforms, APIs, and fraud engines. Monitor compliance with KYC/AML and regulatory standards.
  • Execution & governance: Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, and governance documentation. Track milestones, manage dependencies, and escalate issues proactively.
  • Testing & quality assurance: Oversee SIT, UAT, and certification testing for new features and platforms. Ensure robust performance monitoring post-launch.

Knowledge and experience

  • Strong technology background with proven ability to manage complex integrations

  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred
  • Tokenization and network tokens
  • 3DS risk flows and fraud management
  • GCC regulatory familiarity with cards and BNPL
  • Full cards lifecycle knowledge (authorization clearing/settlement)
  • EMV certification and scheme compliance basics
  • Digital onboarding processes and API integration
  • Disputes/chargebacks lifecycle
