Technical Field Sales Manager

  • As a Technical Field Sales professional, you’ll help Mold-Masters, a Hillenbrand company, strengthen customer partnerships and support sustainable growth across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Based near Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville, or Atlanta, you’ll connect customer requirements with informed technical and commercial solutions. We design and manufacture hot runner systems, temperature controllers, auxiliary injection units, and related technologies for the plastics industry. Your market insight and disciplined sales execution will contribute to customer success, operational excellence, and long-term business value.
  • Location: Charlotte, North Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Greenville, South Carolina; or Atlanta, Georgia
  • Travel: Up to 90% across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia
  • WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans using customer insights, market analysis, and performance data to achieve sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through regular communication, technical consultation, sales presentations, and responsive follow-up.
  • Identify customer requirements, evaluate commercial opportunities, and recommend pricing, discounts, and proposals that support customer needs and business objectives.
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities while maintaining accurate commitments and productive, long-term customer relationships.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and periodic reports that track sales volume, pipeline potential, market conditions, and opportunities for customer base expansion.
  • Monitor plastics industry trends, competitive products, and customer activity to recommend improvements to sales programs, market priorities, and regional investments.
  • Manage the regional sales budget responsibly and coordinate with sales and cross-functional partners to improve execution, customer support, and business performance.

  • You’ll collaborate with sales colleagues and cross-functional partners to coordinate customer solutions, share market insights, and deliver on business commitments. You’ll help create an environment where different perspectives are respected, people feel included, and working together supports the success of Mold-Masters and Hillenbrand.
  • THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
  • A technical background that will enable you to understand customer applications, discuss product capabilities, and connect customer needs with appropriate solutions.
  • At least three years of sales or sales support experience in the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection molding processes, equipment, hot runner systems, products, or customer applications.
  • Experience managing customer relationships, developing sales opportunities, delivering presentations, preparing forecasts, and supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to interpret sales data, market information, pricing considerations, and competitive activity to guide territory decisions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and commercial information to customers and internal partners.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize customer needs, extensive travel, and multiple sales activities.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, accountability, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset when managing confidential information, customer commitments, and regional resources.
