Technical Recruiter | Hybrid

Great recruiters know that people don't magically appear because you posted on JobStreet.

They know where to look, how to start conversations, and how to convince exceptional people to take a call.

If that sounds like you, we've got a role that's a little different from the norm.

You'll spend your days (or depending on where the hiring action is, your afternoons and evenings) growing our US business by finding exceptional Filipino talent. Most of the people you'll recruit will be IT infrastructure professionals, so if you can tell your VMware from your Hyper-V, or your Azure from your AWS, you're already speaking our language.

The best part? While your primary focus will usually be supporting our US business, we're one global recruitment team. As hiring priorities evolve, so will your schedule. Some months you'll enjoy slower mornings before an afternoon start, while others you'll begin earlier to support Australia and New Zealand. It keeps the role varied, gives you exposure to different markets, and means no two months look quite the same.

About First Focus

First Focus is Australia's leading managed service provider and has been recognised as the #1 Managed Service Provider in Australia by Cloudtango for nine consecutive years. We're approaching 500 people across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, and we've spent more than 15 years proving that great businesses are built by great people.

We're collaborative, transparent, ambitious and genuinely supportive. We believe recruitment isn't an administrative function, it's one of the biggest competitive advantages any company can have.

That's why we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the hunt. Someone who's naturally curious, commercially aware, relationship-driven, and gets a little satisfaction from finding that brilliant candidate who wasn't even looking for a new role.

What makes this role different?

This isn't a high-volume recruitment role where success is measured by how quickly you can process applications. It's fast paced but each role is unique with the team seeking someone special.

You'll partner with hiring managers across our US business, building talent pipelines before vacancies even exist, sourcing passive candidates, improving recruitment processes, and delivering an experience that candidates actually enjoy.

Your primary focus will be recruiting Filipino IT professionals into our growing US technology business, but you'll also support recruitment across Australia and New Zealand when needed. That variety means you'll gain exposure to different markets, different hiring challenges, and plenty of opportunities to keep growing your own skills.

Because we're one recruitment team supporting multiple countries, your working hours will flex to match where the hiring demand is. Most of the time you'll be supporting our US business, but when Australia or New Zealand are growing quickly, your schedule may shift earlier to overlap with those teams instead. We think variety keeps things interesting.

What you'll be doing
  • Find and engage exceptional technology talent, primarily for our US business, with the occasional role across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build strong talent pipelines instead of waiting for applications to roll in.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand what "great" really looks like (and gently challenge them when they're asking for a unicorn).
  • Guide candidates through a smooth, professional recruitment experience from first conversation to first day.
  • Continuously improve the way we recruit by embracing better tools, smarter processes and a healthy dose of curiosity.
We'd love to meet someone who
  • Has recruitment or talent acquisition experience, ideally in technology.
  • Has recruited for an MSP, MSSP, IT services business, or understands the world of IT infrastructure.
  • Enjoys sourcing, building relationships and uncovering great talent that others miss.
  • Communicates brilliantly and genuinely enjoys working with people.
  • Is organised, proactive, naturally curious, and always looking for a better way to do things.

If you've recruited within the managed services industry before, you'll hit the ground running.

If you haven't, but you're naturally curious, love learning, and enjoy becoming an expert in the industries you recruit for, we'd still love to hear from you.

Why join us?

At First Focus, our people are our biggest competitive advantage.

For this role, we'd especially highlight our value Win Together. Great recruitment only happens when recruiters, hiring managers and candidates work together, and collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You'll also see our values of Live Curiously, Be the Solution, and Never Stop Growing reflected in the way we work every day.

  • HMO from Day 1, including one dependent (spouse), with dental cover.
  • Free access to Uprise with confidential 1:1 coaching from qualified psychologists or counsellors.
  • Flexible schedule, typically aligned with either US or Australian business hours, depending on where the hiring action is, plus weekends off*.
  • 25 paid leave days annually.
  • MVP Award (₱10,000).
  • Loyalty bonuses*.
  • Regular internal training and access to our learning library.
