Test Automation Engineer - Remote
About the Role
The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and associated tools while providing technical expertise to the engineering team with the shared goal of ensuring quality for ongoing delivery. In doing so, you’ll need skills in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in cloud hosted environments.
We are is currently rolling out Testsigma as part of its automation toolset, and this role will contribute to building test coverage across business-area test suites, end-to-end user journeys, API testing, and regression as part of that project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and associated tooling.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines running in cloud-hosted environments.
- Build and execute automated test suites across assigned business areas (e.g. partner integrations, risk/AML workflows, registry lookups, onboarding workflows) and end-to-end user journeys (e.g. forms, offer management, RI/KYC trees, triggers, RFI).
- Define test coverage for both manual and automation scripts and collaborate on API-level and regression testing.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams in an agile delivery environment.
- Peer-review automation scripts and contribute to team-wide test automation standards and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in test automation, having worked with frameworks/tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Selenium, Postman.
- Competent building test suites in modern programming languages (i.e. JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js etc.).
- Comfortable developing components using continuous integration / continuous delivery approaches.
- Experience working in an agile environment, collaborating with various product and engineering teams.
- Experience defining test coverage for manual and automation scripts.
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative branching/code-review workflows.
- Experience testing and validating API and webhook-driven integrations.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills for triaging automated test failures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with QA, engineering, and product stakeholders.
- A pro-active individual, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative.
- Previous experience of software development in the financial markets or Fintech (preferable but not essential).
Hands-on experience with Testsigma, or a similar AI-powered/low-code automation platform, is highly valued — particularly building and maintaining test suites, reusable step libraries, and reviewing AI self-healing test adjustments before they're trusted. Comfort combining codeless test design with custom scripting to extend coverage (for example, around API and webhook validation) is a strong plus. Candidates who have supported the onboarding or evaluation of new automation tooling as part of a phased rollout will be viewed favourably.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on experience with Testsigma or similar low-code/no-code automation platforms.
- Domain exposure to onboarding, KYC/AML, or risk-scoring workflows.
- Experience working in a phased/gated delivery model (e.g. PoC -> Go/No-Go -> scaled rollout).
