Underwriter - Consultant | Fixed Dayshift and Weekends Off | Onsite

ZigZag is looking for an Underwriter to join our team!

About the Role

You will provide operational and administrative support to the Credit Risk and Underwriting functions of the organization. The role primarily focuses on assisting with the processing of merchant and customer applications, supporting internal teams, and ensuring applications and enquiries are handled efficiently and accurately.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, brokers, and customers to support the application process and respond to general enquiries related to our products. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage administrative and operational tasks in line with our internal policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

Credit & Application Processing Support

  • Support the credit underwriting team by assisting with the processing and review of merchant and customer applications.

  • Capture, verify, and maintain accurate applicant information and documentation required for underwriting assessments.

  • Conduct credit bureau checks and data verification tasks as required by the underwriting team.

  • Assist with the preparation of application summaries, offers, and re-advance documentation.

  • Ensure all applications and supporting documents are processed accurately and in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

Operations & Administrative Support
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks to support daily business operations.

  • Ensure operational processes adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal turnaround time requirements.

  • Conduct data entry and system updates, including processing entries in internal systems such as Odyssey.

  • Support the operational team with workflow management, document processing, and application tracking.

  • Assist with handling merchant enquiries relating to the Credit Risk and Underwriting team.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong administrative and data entry capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured operational environment.

  • Professional approach to customer and stakeholder interactions.

Preferred Experience

  • Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability in managing tasks and responsibilities.

  • Self-starter mindset, with the ability to work independently and proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Experience in financial services operations, lending operations, or credit administration.

  • Familiarity with credit bureau checks or lending processes.

  • Experience supporting broker, merchant, or financial product applications.

  • Experience working with CRM or loan management systems.
