VP/Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics Transformation

<strong>Role Overview<br><br></strong>We are seeking an experienced Vice President, Enterprise Data Products, to lead and deliver strategic analytics initiatives across SMBC's APAC franchise. This role will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, data management functions, and senior executives to drive enterprise-wide data-driven decision making.<br><br>The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in stakeholder management, project and program delivery, self-service analytics, dashboarding, data governance, and end-to-end analytics implementation. The role requires a strong blend of business consulting, analytics leadership, and hands-on delivery capabilities to transform complex business challenges into scalable analytics solutions that create measurable business impact.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Analytics Strategy & Business Partnership<br><br></strong><ul><li>Partner with senior business leaders across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Finance, and Support Functions to identify and prioritize high-value analytics opportunities.</li><li>Develop multi-year analytics roadmaps aligned to APAC business strategy and transformation objectives.</li><li>Translate business requirements into scalable analytics products, dashboards, data assets, and automation solutions.</li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on data strategy, analytics adoption, and business intelligence best practices.</li><li>Drive a culture of data-driven decision making through self-service analytics enablement and data literacy programs.<br><br></li></ul><strong>End-to-End Analytics Delivery<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead full analytics lifecycle delivery from business case development, requirements gathering, data sourcing, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and benefit realization.</li><li>Manage large-scale, cross-functional data and analytics programs spanning multiple countries and stakeholder groups across APAC.</li><li>Deliver enterprise reporting, KPI frameworks, executive dashboards, predictive analytics, and machine learning use cases.</li><li>Oversee development of reusable analytics assets and governed data products to accelerate business adoption.</li><li>Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Self-Service Analytics & Dashboarding<br><br></strong><ul><li>Establish and promote self-service analytics capabilities to empower business users with governed access to trusted data.</li><li>Design and implement enterprise dashboard solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and other visualization platforms.</li><li>Define dashboard standards, KPI frameworks, visualization best practices, and reporting governance.</li><li>Drive adoption of analytics products through user engagement, training, and change management initiatives.</li><li>Monitor usage metrics and continuously enhance analytics products based on stakeholder feedback.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Data Platform & Governance Leadership<br><br></strong><ul><li>Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to leverage modern cloud-based analytics platforms.</li><li>Support enterprise data management initiatives utilizing Databricks, Collibra, and related technologies.</li><li>Ensure analytics solutions adhere to data governance, lineage, metadata, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Champion data quality frameworks and trusted data sourcing practices across the organization.</li><li>Work closely with Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Data Management teams to ensure regulatory and governance alignment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Stakeholder & Project Management<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead complex analytics programs with multiple workstreams, dependencies, and regional stakeholders.</li><li>Manage vendor, consulting partner, and technology provider relationships where applicable.</li><li>Facilitate executive steering committees, project governance forums, and stakeholder workshops.</li><li>Communicate project status, risks, issues, and business outcomes to senior management.</li><li>Mentor junior analytics professionals and establish delivery best practices across teams.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications & Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or related field.</li><li>Minimum 8-12 years of experience in enterprise analytics, business intelligence, data transformation, or data management roles.</li><li>Proven track record delivering large-scale analytics and data initiatives within banking, financial services, or highly regulated industries.</li><li>Strong experience managing senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.</li><li>Demonstrated success leading cross-border and cross-functional initiatives across APAC.</li><li>Experience implementing analytics solutions across the entire data-to-insight lifecycle.</li><li>Strong consulting mindset with the ability to influence decision-making and drive business
