WFH AU Xero Bookkeeper (GST)

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a reliable AU Xero Bookkeeper (GST) to take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping operations for a growing restaurant business, ensuring all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and ready for review. Working directly with the business owner, you will manage everything from invoice processing to bank reconciliations using Xero, helping to relieve the administrative burden so they can focus on running their business. This role offers the opportunity to catch up on backlog work and then maintain clean, organized books on an ongoing basis.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Flexible schedule Australian Eastern Time (AEDT/AEST) (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Upload and process supplier invoices and statements received via dedicated email.
  • Manage invoicing and prepare vendor payments for approval.
  • Perform bank reconciliations using bank transaction reports.
  • Process receipts through HubDoc and assign correct accounting codes.
  • Maintain accurate data entry in Xero accounting software.
  • Catch up backlog bookkeeping work to bring records current.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure proper GST categorization.
  • Respond to accountant feedback and implement corrections as needed.
  • Maintain organized digital records and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates on bookkeeping status and any issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
  • Experience with HubDoc for receipt processing and management.
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of GST compliance and proper categorization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work.
