WFH Odoo Bookkeeper – Full-Cycle Accounting & Canadian Tax

Client Overview

Our client is a Canadian IT services and managed technology provider supporting small and medium-sized businesses across North America. Specializing in IT managed services, telecom, security solutions, and technology hardware, the company relies on Odoo ERP as its central platform for operational tracking and financial management. To ensure precise financial records, timely payables/receivables, and seamless month-end reporting, they are seeking a detail-oriented Odoo Bookkeeper – Full-Cycle Accounting & Canadian Tax.

Role Purpose

This part-time position manages daily and monthly bookkeeping workflows directly within the Odoo ERP accounting environment. Working 20 hours per week during Quebec business hours (EST/EDT), the specialist will oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), client collections, and bank reconciliations, ensuring all general ledger transactions are accurately recorded so that full monthly financial statements are finalized no later than the 10th of each following month.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (4 hours per day) Eastern Time (EST/EDT / Quebec, Canada); (20 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Receivables (AR): Log and verify supplier bills, prepare payment schedules, issue client invoices, and track incoming receipts within Odoo.
  • Collections & AR Monitoring: Review outstanding aging reports and conduct polite, effective follow-ups with clients to collect overdue accounts.
  • Bank & Ledger Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and merchant clearing accounts in Odoo to maintain zero discrepancy between actual bank balances and accounting records.
  • Month-End Financial Closing: Complete monthly closing procedures, record necessary accruals or adjustments, and generate complete financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) by the 10th of the following month.
  • Data Entry & Database Maintenance: Maintain precise customer and vendor financial records, clean transaction categorizations, and audit database entries within Odoo's Accounting module.
  • Tax & Compliance Assistance: Organize transaction documentation and tax tracking required for Canadian sales tax reporting (GST/QST/HST).
Requirements
  • Hands-on Odoo ERP Experience: Demonstrated, direct experience navigating and managing accounting and financial workflows inside Odoo ERP.
  • Full-Cycle Bookkeeping Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of AP/AR processes, general ledger management, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Strict Month-End Deadline Adherence: Proven reliability in executing month-end closes and delivering final financial reports strictly by the 10th of each month.
  • Strong English Communication: Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for managing client payment inquiries and team coordination.
  • Quebec Business Hours Availability: Ability to work 20 hours per week across Monday to Friday during Quebec, Canada business hours (EST/EDT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Canadian sales tax structures (GST/QST) and multi-currency transaction tracking within ERP platforms.
  • Prior experience supporting IT services, technology hardware, or B2B service firms.
