WFH - Part-Time Online Elementary Math & Science Instructor (STEM)

Overview:

Our client is seeking an energetic, engaging, and highly skilled Part-time Online Elementary Math & Science Instructor (STEM) to join their growing online school. This is more than a traditional teaching role. The ideal candidate is someone who can make complex math concepts fun, approachable, and exciting while building strong relationships with students in a live virtual classroom.

The successful candidate will primarily teach Elementary Math and Science, with opportunities to support Junior High and advanced elementary math as the school expands. Candidates who enjoy curriculum development, adapting lessons to different learning styles, and creating an interactive classroom experience are highly encouraged to apply. Our client is especially interested in educators who naturally bring enthusiasm, humor, and positive energy into the classroom while maintaining high academic standards.

Schedule: Flexible within client's business hours | Eastern Time

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging live online classes for elementary students
  • Primarily teach Mathematics and Science, with opportunities to support other elementary subjects when needed
  • Teach mathematical concepts ranging from elementary fundamentals through advanced middle-school topics
  • Guide students through critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving exercises
  • Adapt existing curriculum and create supplemental learning materials when necessary
  • Modify lessons to accommodate different learning styles and student abilities
  • Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and classroom activities
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback
  • Foster an encouraging, energetic, and student-centered learning environment
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to improve curriculum and instructional materials
  • Support future expansion into Junior High instruction
Requirements:
  • Passionate about teaching Mathematics
  • Energetic, engaging, and naturally personable
  • Comfortable using humor to create an enjoyable learning environment
  • Creative and confident adapting lessons to individual student needs
  • Patient, encouraging, and able to build strong relationships with students
  • Organized, dependable, and committed to long-term growth
  • Open to collaborating on curriculum development as the school expands
  • Candidates with experience in math enrichment, competition math, Singapore Math, Beast Academy, STEM education, or gifted student instruction are highly encouraged to apply
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field preferred
  • Strong background teaching Mathematics (required)
  • Science teaching experience is highly preferred
  • Experience teaching elementary students in an online or classroom setting
  • Comfortable teaching advanced elementary and junior high math topics
  • Strong technology skills and confidence using online teaching platforms
  • Experience creating or adapting curriculum is a strong advantage
