The Role of the Assistant 1 – Team Performance Analyst
The successful candidate will assist with the day‑to‑day functioning of the first team analysis department, working alongside club analysts. The role focuses on data and analytical support.
Main Accountabilities
- Managing, creating and developing Tableau dashboards
- Producing Brentford and opposition reports
- Conducting opposition analysis
- Conducting individual and training analysis
- Any other tasks as required
Team Related Tasks
- Supporting Academy staff when necessary
- Ad‑hoc tasks as requested by the line manager

- Report concerns through the safeguarding team as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with club policies, health and safety, and data regulations
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements
- Adhere to the club’s safeguarding policy and code of conduct

Person Specification – Essential Personal Characteristics
- High proficiency using Tableau and Excel
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Creative with data visualisations
- Problem‑solving mindset; able to determine needed outputs
- Willingness to work on the job and be self‑motivated
- Hardworking, enthusiastic with excellent communication skills
- Effective at planning and implementing workloads
- Ability to work unsociable hours – evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Experience in elite‑level performance analysis/football
- Strong understanding of football
- Experience with analysis software (e.g., Wyscout, Second Spectrum, Opta)
Person Specification – Desirable Characteristics
- Master’s in an analytical discipline
- Experience with coding languages (SQL, R, Python)
- Coaching experience or qualifications
- Experience using drones for data collection
