Business Development Freelancer — UK Taxi & Private Hire Fleets
About us
We're Briizpay, a UK payments platform for small businesses. Instead of card machines with per-transaction fees, merchants pay a flat £24.44/month and take payments via QR code or payment links. We already serve barbers, tattoo artists, Spas and other SMEs, and we're now expanding into the UK taxi and private hire sector.
Our target buyers are taxi and PH fleet operators from national giants (Veezu, Delta, Take Me Group) down to small-town ranks (PEM Wigan, Betty's Blackburn, Ashford Cabs). We want a freelancer to run structured outreach across a minimum list of 100 target operators we've already researched and categorised 95 already.
What you'll do
Phase 1 — Research & enrichment (Milestone 1): Work through our pre-built target spreadsheet and enrich it to a minimum of 100. You can replace any that do not add commercial value, e.g., won't work with a third-party payment provider.
For each row where contact info is marked "guess" or "verify":
Find the correct email address for the operations director or commercial lead (LinkedIn, Companies House, website contact page).
Confirm the operator's approximate driver count.
Note their current payment provider if you can find it (LinkedIn photos of driver kits, driver forum posts, their own website).
Update the tracker cells directly.
Deliverable: enriched spreadsheet with verified emails/phones/LinkedIn URLs for about 80% of the operators
Phase 2 — Cold email round 1 (Milestone 2) Using the email templates we'll provide (3 variants — small op / mid op / national fleet):
Personalise the first paragraph per operator (city, fleet size, one specific detail — takes 90 seconds each).
Send from our HubSpot account.
Log every send in the tracker's "Status" column.
Target: all personalised emails sent in week 2.
Phase 3 — Follow-up + call booking (Milestone 3)
Send email #2 to non-repliers after 5 working days (template provided).
Phone the top 15 non-repliers — ask for the ops director, take a message if gatekept.
Book any interested operator into our founder's Calendly for a 20-minute intro call.
Handoff any competitor intel or objections into the tracker's Notes column.
Deliverable: Updated tracker + a one-page summary of what worked, what didn't, and any interesting patterns you noticed.
Bonus: $20 per pilot call actually booked into our calendar and attended by the operator (paid after the call happens).
What we provide

3 email templates (small op / mid op / national fleet).
Company overview one-pager to attach to emails.
Calendly link for pilot bookings.
Direct WhatsApp access to founder for anything you're stuck on.
Who's a fit
Native or fully fluent British English writing. These emails are going to UK small business owners who spot AI-generated text a mile off.
Prior B2B outbound experience — ideally SaaS, fintech, payments, or hospitality/retail tech.
Comfortable making UK phone calls (9am–6pm UK time) — 3–4 hours of calling total across the project.
Meticulous with a spreadsheet. You'll be updating status columns every day and we want an accurate audit trail.
Discretion. This is a warm-market push; no spraying or scraping. If you use aggressive scraping tools we'll notice.
Nice to have (not required):
Experience in the UK taxi / PH / mobility sector.
Existing familiarity with iCabbi / Autocab / Lopay / SumUp / Stripe.

Confirmation you can start within 7 days.
We'll shortlist 3, do a 15-minute video interview, and pick within 5 days.
